Hello! Welcome to the Centered Space. My name is Charity.
I have been working in the mental health field for over ten years now. For seven of those years, I worked in an intensive outpatient setting (IOP) as a foundationally trained DBT therapist providing education on PTSD, symptom stabilization and the ways trauma can impact many areas of life. In recent years, I've continued my work in outpatient settings, supporting clients as they move toward meaningful personal goals.
Across all of my experience, one truth has remained constant: the foundation of effective therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. Healing begins with connection- with trust, understanding, and the experience of feeling genuinely seen and supported.
Growing up in a large family in a busy city shaped not only who I am, but how I show up as a clinician. From an early age, I was immersed in diverse personalities, cultures and life experiences, which taught me the importance of listening, adapting and honoring different perspectives. These early experiences laid the foundation for my ability to build genuine therapeutic relationships rooted in empathy, curiosity and respect.
As a clinician, I bring this adaptability and relational focus into every session. I understand that no two people experience the world in the same way, and therapy should reflect that. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, creating a space where you can feel safe exploring your thoughts, emotions, and challenges at your own pace. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, healing from trauma or simply seeking deeper self-understanding, my goal is to meet you where you are and support you in moving toward meaningful change.
